Fareportal is looking for a highly motivated architected to help lead development of the next
generation of cutting edge Fareportal Travel Services.
Successful candidates will be expected to lead by example and be extremely capable, driven
and self motivated.
This role requires a focus on delivery:
Experience:
Very strong experience with Amazon WebServices (AWS) (ec2, elb, cloudfront,
codedeploy, lambda, iam etc), ideally in developing applications and deployment
infrastructure programmatically - Ideally certified
Hands on experience with architecture of large scale SASS and E-Commerse web
applications
Strong skills and experience with modern agile development process and practices
Strong experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CIDC)
processes and tooling such as Bamboo, Jenkins, Buildkite, Gobuild
Strong practical experience with a range of programming languages with a focus on the
right tool for the right job
Be equally at home in software development, systems development and system
engineering practices
Solid Linux and Windows skills.
Capability and drive to learn new technologies rapidly and to a high level of detail
Familiarity with development of high traffic APIs including streaming endpoints
Web protocol knowledge such as restAPIs, HTTP, TLS, webhocks, websockets , oauth
and http2 and DNS as a minimum.
Networking fundamentals such as tcp/udp, ip, load balancing, reverse proxy and network
routing basics
Qualifications
AWS certifications strongly preferred
Bachelor Computer science/engineering preferred but not essentials
Successful candidates will have a drive to push themselves and those around them to
rapidly build cutting edge products for our customers thinking in terms of days and weeks
This role is highly technical but successful candidates will absolutely have to be able to
negotiate and work closely and efficiently with various C levels of the business
