Business Systems Analyst
Education Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in
business management statistics computer science or a related field and three
years of related work experience in a business analyst role using analysis
techniques writing technical and/or online documentation for end-users or an
equivalent combination of education and experience.

Strong analytical
interpretive and written/verbal communication skills. Knowledge of business
operations and requirements and business modeling concepts (required)
Excellent presentation
oral written and interpersonal communications skills to effectively interact
and negotiate with internal/external customers and all levels of management;
Ability to maintain
professionalism. Intermediate knowledge of importing data for use in report
software spreadsheets graphs and flowcharts.
Principal Duties Responsibilities:
Under general direction,
maps current business processes to provide a foundation for defining business
activities. Uses business process maps to develop procedures, models, and
operational processes.
Develops accurate project
deliverables including but not limited to business requirements, technical
requirements, project charters, communication plans, risk mitigation plans,
quality plans, cost/benefit analysis, interface specifications, issues/concerns
logs, project certification logs, project checklists, use-case scenario
specifications, and process models.
Manages the process in
developing the project charter to include conducting a preliminary assessment
of business needs.
Applies appropriate
analysis to business unit issues to provide the best resolution and satisfy
internal and external customers.
Houses all project
deliverables in a project Sharepoint repository. Participates in business
process management group efforts to collect and analyze metrics and continually
improve processes owned by the group; participates in root cause analysis to
recommend quality/service enhancements or other appropriate actions to improve
productivity for the business units;
Uses knowledge of
processes and their relevancy to project development to effectively address the
customer’s needs and initiates timely action to meet them; discusses process
flows and identifies process bottlenecks;
Leads and participates in
peer reviews; contributes to comprehensive development strategy that supports
the corporate business strategy;
Provides input from the
perspective of cross-departmental functions Acts as a liaison between business
units Project Management Office Software Quality Assurance and IT by opening
and maintaining lines of communication to monitor and improve satisfaction;
makes recommendations for quality/service enhancements;
Manages business unit
expectations of initiatives and projects; ensures success of
projects/initiatives by coordinating system and process enhancements and
communicating them to the business units and other affected departments before
project implementation including train-the-trainer sessions as necessary
Creates reports to support quality reviews and to provide management
information;
Develops operational
reports in support of business process research and/or project successes to
include regular return on investment review; and provides analysis of those
reports to management about key release metrics; presents and discusses these
reports and analysis with management.
Maintains records related
to projects such as scope change control documentation cost-change control
documentation and revised requirement documents (essentially all business
documents throughout the life of the project); possibly assists in developing
methodologies for maintaining information in systems; researches available
information and standards for maintaining such information; writes procedures.
Communicates and
collaborates with technical and nontechnical staff and implements new
procedures upon approval Performs other related duties as assigned.
