Job Description

This opportunity is for individuals who have Hands-on experience in data warehouse design and development. The Role demands more than a typical ETL Architect role as it interacts outwardly on projects with PM's, OPS, data modelers, developers, admins, DBA's and testers. This is a hands-on delivery-focused role, and the individual will be responsible for technical delivery of data warehouse and data integration projects The Informatica ETL Architect creates comprehensive processes to extract data from source systems, transform data according to business rules, and load data into warehouse and presentation models. The role requires analysis of varied and evolving sources of data, determining extraction methodologies and loading to operational data models data marts. Additionally, the ETL Architect must work with Business users to ensure that the appropriate data is being sourced into the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) in conformance with data governance guidelines. This position, as a rule, requires the qualified candidate to be innovative and creative in solving complex problems and work in an environment where requirements can continually evolve, while still maintaining adherence to all enterprise data warehouse standards.
Responsibilities:
• Deliver data models supporting design conforming to an enterprise conceptual model
• Align Informatica ETL solutions to roadmaps for existing data mart and data management solutions across multiple business lines
• Contribute to data strategies for the migration of legacy applications
• Develop data standards and promote their use
• Contribute to data data tool standards and governance processes
• Maintenance of data dictionary and/or metadata repositories
• Design and Mentor project team members in the development of complex Informatica ETL solutions
• Partner with other data architects to influence and support local data needs
• Classifies and establishes a priority list of data within an organization.
• Supervises the department's processes for data construction and design.
• Advises on the advanced functions and operational techniques of data administration tools and systems.
• Monitors data quality, compatibility and stability to meet current and future needs of the organization.
• Designs data access, usage and change rules for users within and across organizations.

Requirements
 Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science preferred
 10+ years’ experience in the area of Informatica ETL Design and Architecture, data analysis, and/or reporting, data management, modeling,
 Functional work in and familiarity with enterprise architecture concepts
 Prior experience with financial services, retirement, insurance, or medical records industry highly desirable
 Expertise with Star, Snowflake, and 3NF data modeling techniques as well as data warehousing data mart principles and methodologies
 Expertise with data modeling tools such as ERWIN or Embarcadero ER Studio
 Experience working with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, Sybase
 Experience working with ETL tools such as Informatica or SSIS
 Successful in a matrixes work environment
 Excellent documentation skills
 Ability to collaborate and work in a multi-site environment
 Experience working in an agile or continuous improvement environment
 Head complex ETL requirements and design.
 Experience with IDQ, MDM, other ETL tools
 Implement an Informatica based ETL solution fulfilling stringent performance requirements.
 Collaborate with product development teams and senior designers to develop architectural requirements to ensure client satisfaction with product.
 Conduct impact assessment and determine size of effort based on requirements.
 Develop full SDLC project plans to implement ETL solution and identify resource requirements.
 Perform as active, leading role in shaping and enhancing overall ETL Informatica architecture.
 Identify, recommend and implement ETL process and architecture improvements.
 Assist and verify design of solution and production of all design phase deliverables.
 Manage build phase and quality assure code to ensure fulfilling requirements and adhering to ETL architecture.
 Resolve difficult design and develop issues.
 Strong understanding of SQL programming language, Stored Procedures and Indexes etc.
 Working technical experience with designing, developing and supporting multi-terabyte database environments.
 Good Knowledge on UNIX commands, shell scripting etc.
 Good Knowledge on IBM Tivoli Scheduler (TWS) or Control-M for scheduling Workflows.
 Good knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
 Excellent communication skills – need to be able to interface with business as well as technical leaders
