Job Description
NIIT Technologies (http://www.niit-tech.com/) is looking for Computer Science graduates with first language as (or
proficiency in) one of the following languages:
GERMAN
FRENCH
ITALIAN
SPANISH
(SPAIN)
MANDARIN
(CHINESE)
The position will be based out of our offices in Atlanta, GA or from
a remote location within USA for minimum duration of three (3) months. Our
client will conduct four (4) days assessment for the shortlisted candidate’s
after which they will be on-boarded/selected for the project assignment.
The project focus would be at the
intersection of 1) language proficiency and 2) coding/algorithms; we have
designed a 2-part Language/Coding Challenge, which covers both of these topics.
The shortlisted candidates will go
through a two (2) step evaluation/screening process spread across four (4)
days.
Part one of the
evaluation process will focus on Language/Phrase generation, and we
will be providing a detailed explanation of a task, plus examples in English,
and looking for you to complete similar examples in
each language. It is very directly relevant to a component of
the work you would be doing for us. We do not expect it to be
particular time consuming or challenging per se, but we will be looking
for attention to detail, quality of work, and the like.
Part two of the
evaluation process will be a coding/algorithm challenge we consider quite
difficult to fully complete in a short period of time. We
expect this will be the main focus of your time during at least 3 of the
4 days, and the goal will be to submit two things: [1] a new codebase
(which can be in whatever programming language your prefer) which represents
the best progress you can make in the allotted time towards a fully
working solution, and [2] a detailed document explaining your thinking about
how you would be able to use additional time to work towards a fully-working
solution, or ways you would envision improving or refactoring your
existing code. This will be an exercise for which it is possible for
a single developer who takes the right approach to create a working
solution in 8 hours or less (out of 25 individuals who we have invited to
complete a very similar challenge, 2 have been able to complete a fully working
solution in 1 day). In this case, you will be allowed to
tackle the problem as a multi-person effort, and have multiple days —
however we do still consider it a challenging exercise and if you can create a
fully working solution in the time allotted, that will definitely be above
and beyond the expected performance, and what we’re expecting instead is a
partial solution and a codebase-in-progress, but done in a way that gives us
confidence you would continue to make progress given additional time.
