Job Description – Teradata Solution Architect
As a Teradata Solution Architect you will be responsible for the design and delivery of complex Teradata solutions, in addition to:
· Knowledge of Teradata's solutions - Teradata RDBMS, Teradata hardware platforms, Teradata Financial Management, Teradata Master Data Management, Teradata CRM, Data Mart consolidation, Active Data Warehouse, Dual Active and related solution offerings.
Experienced in producing high level and detailed solution designs, including multi-environment configurations including DR options
· Demonstrating ability to relate business problems to the underlying data and the ability of Data Warehouse technology to solve the business problems
· Understanding, documenting and articulating the customer's current data warehouse/data mart architecture. This includes a complete inventory of the customer's data warehouses and datamarts as well as their respective business functions

· Understanding mainframe and client/server computing environments
· Knowledge of business problems of retail/CPG customers*
· Full life cycle experience (requirements gathering through production deployment) in all aspects of BI/DW (ETL, data modelling, analytics and reporting)
· Strong problem investigation skills
Person Profile:
Experience in the Information Technology industry with recent experience of client facing Business Intelligence development
Proven experience in developing complex dimensional data models
A track record of achievement and recognition within the IT industry as evidenced by significant promotion
Significant IT Industry experience within a Client facing role delivering BI solutions
Comfortable liaising with senior client personnel to establish requirements and discuss potential SAS systems development
Ability to interpret business requirements in terms of conceptual and logical data model design
Demonstrable technical expertise in Data Warehouse design
Extensive use of common modelling tools – Erwin preferably
Comfortable liaising with senior client personnel to verify and discuss requirements and discuss potential development strategies
Excellent communication skills – interviewing, preparation and delivery of presentations and reports
Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical clients
Basic project planning experience
Ability to work independently and without supervision
Comfortable working within a multi-organisation environment
